Hot air balloon ride in Jaipur anyone?

If you are not a fan of waking up at 4am, then this is not for you. But if you are planning on travelling to India and you are asking yourself, is it worth the money? Then I am here to tell you, YES, IT IS!

Arriving at the location is exciting, because you know you are one step closer to doing this amazing thing.  The ground crew are there to welcome you with choices of coffee, tea and hot chocolate which is exactly what you want at that moment, at 5am in the morning. You sip slowly on your hot beverage as you listen to your instructions and watch as the pilots start to inflate these massive hot air balloons. It’s time to take out your cell phone and get some very anticipated “selfies” with the balloon as your backdrop so you can brag on Facebook to your family and friends back home.

Finally, you are motioned to follow the crew to your balloon and meet the pilot. He gives you his background flying experience speech, which makes you feel at ease that he has done this more than once before and the next thing you know, you’re getting into the basket.

He gives a few tugs on the gas, and you’re off. Floating above the ground, taking in all the scenery that is surrounding you.  The setting is so peaceful and serene and the landscape is so beautiful. There are no horns blowing or people screaming. All you can hear is the sound of amazement from the others in your basket.

You notice there are people down below, looking up at you; waving from the roof tops of their houses and courtyards, all pausing for just that moment to watch you glide through the air in amazement. Now is the perfect time to snap some more photos of what life is like in Jaipur, from your vantage point in the sky.

This wonderful ride takes an hour.  As the pilot finds a place to land, you get ready in your bracing position. But before you land, you notice a multitude of colour down below. All the local people from the area, dressed in such gorgeous, vibrant colours, have come to greet you. They too, are in amazement, of this impressive object that has just landed in their field. Together we take photos of each other to capture this moment and cherish it forever.

What a phenomenal way to end the perfect experience!
